Reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia looked in ominous form in both days of the Qatar preseason test as the Italian became the first and only rider to go under the 1m 51s bracket.

Enea Bastianini was the closest competitor to Bagnaia as he finished the day just 0.120 seconds shy of his teammate.

Like yesterday, it was once again Aleix Espargaro who led the charge for non-Ducati riders in third ahead of Marc Marquez who made significant progress on time-attack mode.

Then came the Aprilia duo of Raul Fernandez and Maverick VInales, making it three Aprilias in the top six. With major improvements in aero, the Noale factory is expected to put on a strong showing in the season opening race of Qatar.

Seventh and eighth positions were occupied by Pramac’s Jorge Martin and VR46 Racing’s Fabio Digiannantonio ahead of Brad Binder who was the sole representative for the Austrian squad in the top ten.

Yamaha were nowhere to be seen in the standings as both Quartararo and Rins ended their days in fifteenth and seventeenth respectively.

as he broke the record from 2022 by posting a laptime of 1:28.511s. Nicolo Bulega was also in hot pursuit as his lap was just 0.074s shy of the top time set by the Turk.

In third place, it was the Yamaha of Andrea Locatelli followed by Andrea Iannone who led the independent efforts in fourth.

With Alex Lowes representing Kawasaki in fifth, we have all manufacturers par Honda featuring in the top five with all signs pointing towards a competitive season opener.

Reigning double world champion Alvaro Bautista finished the day in seventh and will look to activate his attack mode for day 2 as the Spaniard prepares for his third title defense starting from one his favorite hunting grounds in Phillip Island.

Six-time world champion Jonathan Rea had a silent day as he finished the day in fifteenth, 1.4s off the time set by Toprak Razgatlioglu.
